Laser Kidney Stone Surgery (RIRS)

RIRS (Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery) is a procedure for doing surgery within the kidney using a viewing tube called a fiberoptic endoscope.

Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery (RIRS) is an advanced laser procedure for treating kidney stones without making any incisions on the kidney.

How it works

The instrument is passed through the urethra, into the bladder, and then up into the kidney. A laser is then used to crush the stones into dust, which are naturally flushed out with urine.

Benefits

  • No cuts or stitches
  • Faster recovery time
  • Minimal pain
  • Discharge within 24 hours
